Washington D.C. Visit

The LUPNG Delegation met with the PNG Embassy in Washington to discuss ideas related to the development of a Lutheran University in Papua New Guinea.

Governor Luther Wenge, Mr. Pato and the delegation had discussions with John Oldfield of Water Advocates and President Stanley Jackson of the University of District of Columbia.  The LUPNG Establishment Working Committee and the Morobe Provincial Government will consider a partnership in relation to projects that will assist both the University and PNG citizens.

The WASH-in-Schools initiative is aimed at bringing fresh drinking water and sanitation to 100% of the primary and secondary schools in PNG.  This is a vital area of improving education and learning by improving health standards in the schools in PNG.  This initiative can become part of the Lutheran University Project with the Teacher Education program.
